The room is most easily access by the stair off the parking lot beside the church, but there is also a ramp leading into the sanctuary that can be used by those with limited mobility. Those who need assistance entering the church can call the church office at 604-298-6916.
Our study this season is guided by the discussion in "Jesus through Middle Eastern Eyes" by Kenneth Bailey. Dr. Bailey was born to American missionary parents working in the Middle East and was introduced to the culture of the region as a young child. He later served as a missionary and professor, in Egypt, Cyprus, and Lebanon from 1955 until he retired in 1995. He brings four decades of experience in Middle Eastern culture to his commentaries on the Bible, a resource that few other English writers can match.
It is NOT necessary to have your own copy of the book, although it would clearly be helpful to read what he has to say in preparation for our own discussion.
Each week we will cover one chapter from the book, unless the discussion is so active that we need to extend it to the next week!
Chapter 30: The Parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man
Chapter 31: The Parable of the Pounds
Chapter 32: The Parable of the Noble Vineyard Owner and His Son
