Call to Worship

We arrive at this moment, in this place – expectant, hopeful, downhearted, unsure – however we are.

We come to encounter the promises of God.

Trailing along with us is all the life we have lived up to this moment.

We are young and we are old.
We are from near and far.
We bring stories of ancestors with us.

We come to encounter the promises of God.

Here is where we collect ourselves,

together here and now.

In this still, singular moment we become ready.

Ready to look forward into the future,

filled with promise for us and for all.

We come to encounter the promises of God.

Jesus’ Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come,

thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation,

but deliver us from evil:

for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory,

forever and ever.

Amen.
